Houses We Bought As They Stood

Street and suburb only, out of respect for the people who live there now.

Huntsbury Avenue, Huntsbury

Selling a house as is where is in Christchurch, a Huntsbury kitchen before and after Mint Developments bought it
Bathroom before and after, Huntsbury Avenue, Huntsbury, Christchurch
Dining room before and after, Huntsbury Avenue, Huntsbury, Christchurch

A two-storey family home still in its original 1970s condition. Brown cabinets, patterned vinyl, wallpaper in the toilet. We bought it as it was in 2022, started work that September and had it back on the market in November. It got a new kitchen and new bathrooms, and the trees came out.

Grange Street, Hillsborough

Kitchen before and after, Grange Street, Hillsborough, Christchurch

Two flats that needed re-levelling. We did that, then fitted new kitchens, bathrooms and laundry, insulation, double glazing and electric garage doors. The kitchen above is from one of the two.

Centaurus Road, Huntsbury

Swimming pool before and after renovation, Centaurus Road, Huntsbury, Christchurch

The pool at this house was empty, cracked and ringed with dirt when we started. It now has new coping, a new surround and water in it.

How Selling a House As Is Where Is Works With Us

Selling a house as is where is to Mint takes three steps.

  1. You get in touch and we come and look. The appraisal is free and there’s no obligation.
  2. We show you the numbers. You see what the property is worth, using data from an independent source, and what selling through an agent would cost you.
  3. We agree a price and settle in cash. You leave the house as it is. We take on the repairs and the hassle.

Questions Sellers Ask

Can you sell your house as is?

Yes. Selling a house as is where is means the buyer takes it in the state it’s in. That’s how we buy. You don’t need to repair or clean anything first.

Can you sell a damaged house?

Yes. We buy earthquake damaged and flood damaged homes, and houses that have just been left too long. We understand construction, so we work out the repair costs ourselves.

What about a house with mould or water damage?

We’ve taken on a house with black mould, a blocked sink and fogged-up glass. It didn’t put us off.
